God offers peace amidst storm
Posted On 07/29/2010 03:42:18 by pigshow

It seems that the only thing known to us about 2010, is that the majority of the things we will have to deal with in the coming year are unknown to us. All the changes being made in Washington have created real angst and uncertainty in every level of society. The fragility of the economy, the increasing enormity of national debt that will require repayment by our citizens, and the increasing job insecurity further exacerbates our anxiety and uncertainty.

Added to these uncertainties , we now have had new attacks inside our country by persistent Islamic Jihadists.

So as we find ourselves in a world of such turmoil, how can we face the unfolding scenarios of 2010? How can we have peace in such times? One way we can reduce our anxiety caused by the unknown, is to immerse ourselves into that which is known, especially into a "known" that remains constant during even the worst periods of turmoil. When we are facing such tumultuous situations, abercrombie fitch we need to turn to someone who remains stable even when the world is chaotic.

Of course, God is the only Person who is not dependent upon the life conditions of this planet. Furthermore, God has power and resources far beyond those being wielded by governments , economies, or humans. God knows what we do not know. God sees what will happen in the future, knows where sinkholes will open, and He knows the alternative routes to bypass such pitfalls.

Louise Haskins, in her book "God Knows," wrote: "And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: 'Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.' And he replied: 'Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light, and safer than a known way.'"

How do we face the uncertainties and upheaval of this New Year? We need to place our hand in the hand of God, and journey through life with the God who knows the unknown, who sees the unseen, and who can overcome anything we might encounter along the way. In John 16:33 (NLT) Jesus told His disciples Fake Chanel Watches about the difficulties ahead of them, when they will be scattered, in hiding , and fearing for their lives.

Jesus said: "I have told you all this so that Men VERSACE t shirts you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."

In the world we will face uncertainties. There will be times when we will feel like grapes in a winepress, and as a result feel crushed and alone. But Jesus told us that when we place our life into His hand, and our hand into His hand, we will experience God's peace in the midst of turmoil. Jesus has already overcome the world, including death.

The only place to experience abiding peace in the midst of the storm is in the protective presence of God, as our lives and their outcomes are entrusted to the hand of God. Only He knows the unknown, only He can overcome the obstacles we will face, and it is only as we walk with Him through life that we can have peace, certainty, and hope when the rest of the world is spinning out of control. Is your world spinning out of control? Then why not put your life into God's hand and walk with your hand in His? Doing this, we can each face the coming year with peace.
